Come with us as we explore Italy and check out properties for Gira! Italian Vacation Rentals.
The plan today is to meet up with Roberta at Collestrada, which is Perugia‘s premier shopping mall. Something that would be very interesting to mall dwellers everywhere. Although a little smaller than the shopping malls you see in the U.S., it’s still lively and full of interesting shops, including a full scale Ipercoop, the kind of Coop grocery store that also is a kind of department store, with clothing, household goods and lots of different food sections.
We spend a minute (as is our custom) getting a morning caffe and cornetto, and looking around a while before the meetup with Roberta, our good friend and business associate here in Umbria. We have been working with her since the early days of our business, back in 1998. She always shows us a good time driving around to the country estates and small villages, filling us in with non-stop information and stories along the way.
Today we meet her by the entrance and share an Italian greeting, the kiss on opposite cheeks, and we are on our way. Our destination today is La Preziosa, a very ‘precious’ villa in a tranquil setting with a gorgeous view. This special villa sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. It includes some special ideas of the owners that we found very interesting. There are actually two swimming pools here. The outside pool (12 by 6 meters) is positioned perfectly to take full advantage of the countryside view. When the weather doesn’t allow you to go outside, there is an indoor pool (5 by 3 meters) with exercise area that means you can enjoy your day of recreation inside.
We return to Collestrada and say goodbye to Roberta, making plans for a dinner together…and a rendezvous in Sicily several days later.
We pick up some supplies for our stay at Borghetto di Assisi and head back to villa.
Tomorrow: Our final day in Umbria.
